Shedding of the skin, healing, and rebirth are all symbols associated with the snake. The Bible portrays the serpent as the giver of forbidden knowledge. In ancient Greek, the snake symbolized healing and medicine. The Caduceus, the healthcare symbol, is still used in the US today and depicts two serpents winding around a winged staff. Hinduism associates the snake with Kundalini energy that lays dormant at the base of the spine. Coiled tightly, patiently waiting to be released through a spiritual awakening where the ego, or lower self, disappears and the shedding of one's self leads to the rebirth of the enlightened soul. Snakes are the guardians of this inner knowledge. The hidden intuition and wisdom that is waiting to be awakened. Which is why snakes are also associated with fertility. They are the catalyst for the birth, death, and rebirth cycle.
This year, Convent will be released. A historical fiction novel that tells the story of a woman who unravels the web of her identity, through a spiritual awakening, to reveal a life of magic she couldn't imagine in her wildest dreams. Will 2025, the year of the snake, be the year that you finally transform, releasing what no longer serves you to become something inspiring?
